FAQ — Dog's Best Friend of Fair Oaks

Question 1

How do I get started with Dog's Best Friend of Fair Oaks?

Accepted Answer

Getting started is easy! Reach out by phone, text, or through the contact form on this site. We'll schedule a complimentary meet-and-greet so I can get to know you and your dog before any services begin. This ensures we're a great fit and your pup feels comfortable with me.

Question 2

Do you accept new clients?

Accepted Answer

I maintain a small, exclusive book of clients to ensure every dog receives my full attention and care. Availability is limited, so I encourage you to reach out early. If I'm at capacity, I'll let you know and keep your information on file for when a spot opens up.

Question 3

What areas do you serve?

Accepted Answer

I'm based in Fair Oaks, CA and primarily serve the Fair Oaks and surrounding Sacramento area communities. Please reach out to confirm whether your location falls within my service area.

Question 4

What services do you offer?

Accepted Answer

I offer 1-on-1 dog boarding and dog sitting services. Unlike large kennels or pet apps with rotating staff, your dog receives my undivided attention. I do not overbook, rush between appointments, or treat pet care as a side gig — this is my profession and my passion.

Question 5

Do you accept all dog breeds and sizes?

Accepted Answer

I work with dogs of all breeds and sizes. During our initial meet-and-greet, I'll assess your dog's temperament and needs to make sure we're a good match. The safety and comfort of every dog in my care is always the top priority.

Question 6

Will my dog be around other dogs?

Accepted Answer

Because I keep my client roster small and intentional, your dog will not be mixed with a large group of unfamiliar dogs. I prioritize a calm, low-stress environment that feels more like home than a kennel.

Question 7

How do you handle dogs with special needs or medical requirements?

Accepted Answer

I'm happy to accommodate dogs with special dietary needs, medications, or other care requirements. Please share all relevant details during our meet-and-greet so I can prepare and ensure your dog's routine is maintained exactly as you'd like.

Question 8

How will I receive updates about my dog while I'm away?

Accepted Answer

Communication is a cornerstone of what I do. I stay in regular contact with pet parents through texts and photos so you always know how your pup is doing. You'll never be left wondering — I proactively reach out with updates throughout the day.

Question 9

What happens in an emergency?

Accepted Answer

Your dog's safety is my absolute priority. In the event of a medical emergency, I will contact you immediately and, if necessary, transport your dog to the nearest veterinary clinic. I always keep your emergency contact and vet information on file before services begin.

Question 10

Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?

Accepted Answer

Yes — fully. I am a licensed, bonded, and insured sole proprietor and a proud member of Pet Sitters International (PSI). This means you have real professional accountability and protection, not just a casual sitter from a booking app.

Question 11

Why choose you over a large pet-sitting app?

Accepted Answer

Large booking apps connect you with strangers who pet-sit on the side, often juggling multiple clients at once with no professional accountability. With Dog's Best Friend of Fair Oaks, you get a licensed professional who treats your dog like family, maintains their routines, and gives you genuine peace of mind — not just a transaction.

Question 12

How do I book a service?

Accepted Answer

Online booking is coming soon! In the meantime, please reach out by phone, text at (916) 354-5210, or through the contact form on this site. I'll get back to you promptly to discuss your needs and schedule.

Question 13

What are your rates?

Accepted Answer

Pricing varies depending on the service and duration. Because I don't use a large platform, there are no corporate markups — my rates are competitive and go entirely toward your dog's care. Please contact me for current pricing details.

Question 14

What is your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Please contact me directly to discuss scheduling changes or cancellations. I appreciate as much advance notice as possible so I can accommodate other clients on my waitlist.
